So I'm painting on a piece of hardboard in my kitchen, copying my favourite painting belonging to my favourite Irish Artist when my friend drops by and admires my work and asks me if I could do one for her.  And I do but I dont charge her, just ask her to spread the word to her friends that I'm reasonably priced.  The word spreads and soon several other friends have their big blank walls filled with my paintings ..... but  this time I charge!   Read more >

If you procrastinate over picking up your painting brush and starting work on your painting you may find these tips helpful as they are a great way to get you started and every artist knows that's the hardest part. Once we artists get started there's no stopping us. So why do we procrastinate, find any excuse to not start? I suppose for everybody the answer is different but here are a few tips that I find helpful and I hope you do too. 1 Always clean your brushes and work area immediately after painting so you are ready to go at the next session.  Read more >
