Kristen Daukas

Kristen Daukas has been blogging since 2003 and currently oversees her own social media marketing agency which began 4 years ago. I was a top 5 finalist in the 2012 Shorty Awards for "Mom in Social Media".  I founded the site Ten to Twenty Parenting: A site exclusively for the parents of teens and tweens

Parenting with more humor than patience, my ultimate goal is to get all 3 out of the house without the use of force or therapy.  After a 7 year stint outside of Philly, we currently reside in the beautiful state of NC. I've been blogging since 2003 but apparently there are  a few missing years that I can't locate or remember and my red hair gives me super powers.

During the day, I am the social media director for Atlantic Webworks and love helping our clients realize their full potential of reaching their customers using marketing and social media.

The only babies I write about are how to avoid having one (or my beautiful niece..). You'll hear about the fun and excitement of having a teen and 2 tweens under one roof. I am as far from Junior League material as they get and have been banned from ever running for a spot on the PTA because I don't own pearls, matching cardigan sets and I hate Lillie Pulitzer.

I Scared Them with My Yelling

I'm honestly not sure why I'm even writing this post. Sometimes for me there's something intimidating and yet freeing all at the same time about putting something into concrete words. But this time maybe I'm needing to say it out loud to hold myself accountable to do something I'm honestly not sure I can do on my own.So here goes…....more

Food Bloggers: Can We Get Real With Each Other for a Minute?

As a food blogger, there’s this ridiculous pressure that every recipe has to be earth-shatteringly wonderful.  They have to be unique, creative, and easy enough that people will actually attempt making it themselves. The photos have to be gorgeous and there has to be a story that goes along with them. Otherwise, they’re not deemed “blog-worthy.” What the heck? ...more

The Hidden Costs of Blogging and Rarely Discussed Money-Saving Measures

So, let's talk cold, hard cash: how much does it really cost you to blog once you factor in the necessary (computer), the wanted (pretty blog design), and the reality (nothing is free: when you're taking time to blog, you're taking time away from something else).  Blogging can quickly become a very expensive hobby. ...more
