I am an aspiring writer who frequently finds plenty of subject matter in my life as a woman, partner and mother.  I also enjoy reading quite a bit and write book reviews whenever the mood strikes me.

Weakness

I have a confession to make. I haven’t been completely forthright when writing about depression on here. I make a big deal about doing more about depression and mental illness than writing about it online, but the truth is, when it comes to talking about it, I suck at it ....more

The Year I Simplified My Resolutions

So for anyone keeping track, the last couple of years I’ve participated in the whole #oneword resolution movement – picking just one word to live by for the year instead of a series of resolutions. This past year, I chose the word “simplify.”...more

I’ve Been Reading

Continuing the Conversation

A couple weeks ago a post hit the interwebs about suicide in student affairs, and once it did, my social media feeds and email went crazy.
