When my brother Kevin and his wife were expecting their son, they decided to name the baby Elvis, my brother being a huge Elvis fan. My mother thought that this was a particularly bad idea. “He will be teased in school,” she said, among other things. That turned out to be a moot point as Kev and Liz home schooled Elvis until recently. I was at the nail salon getting a manicure a little while ago, when the power went out. Luckily, I was nearly done. I had to dry my nails the manual way. Yes, I blew on them. I couldn't pay for my manicure because the card reader was out with the power and I don't do those antiquated check thingies.
