Couponing Score!

You may know that I am stockpiling mens grooming products for Christmas.  I have five men in the family to buy for and since I can get a pretty good deal on this stuff I'd like to give them each a little extra basket of items this year. So today I went to Rite Aid.  They have Gillette Fusion Proglide power razors for $9.99 with $5 up rewards on the first two (so I bought two).  Plus I had coupons for $4.00 off each. Next they have Crest Pro-Health toothpaste on sale for $2.99, with $2 up rewards on each.  I also have $1.50 coupon for each tube. ...more

Well now I'm really looking forward to trying a Rite-Aid someday.

Coupon Withdrawal

Last week there were no coupons in the Sunday paper because of the holiday.  Today I am in total withdrawal and I'm ready tomorrow! How pathetic is that? I have cleaned out my binder, cleared out the expired coupons, and made it look nice and pretty for a whole new batch of coupons for tomorrow.   I can't wait to drive around to family members houses who save their coupons for me, divide them all up page by page, clip them out and file them away.  I'm ready for a good deal. I just wish I had more stockpile room....more

Stockpile Shopping

Today was a total stockpiling trip. A local store, Fred Meyer, had men's deodorant on sale 3 for $10.00. I had a coupon for a dollar off, plus a coupon buy one deodorant and get a bodywash for free so I totally scored and stocked up. I'm not big on men's bathing supplies but I have lots of young men in the family who will each get a nice little basket of personal care supplies at Christmas. Bodywash, men's body scrubbers, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, shaving cream, and whatever else I might get a good deal on....more

Mob Wives!

Last night was the second episode in VH1's reality show "Mob Wives". I'm surprised at how each of these women are likeable in their own way, even though I would probably be terrified of them in real life. My favorite so far is probably Drita D'Avanzo, a street smart, pencil thin but tough as nails mom trying to hold her family together while her husband serves his second stint in a federal prison. Then we have Renee Graziano. Her father is big in the mob, although currently in prison....more

Easter Sunday and it's raining.....again.

Earlier this week I typed a very thought out post and lost it in "preview" somehow. So this time I'm going to save, grammarical mistakes and all, and edit later. It's Easter and my pot roast is in the slow cooker. I would love to have a ham but I'm the only one in my family that likes ham, so no ham for me. And pot roast is okay, I can make a wonderful old country soup with the leftovers. I'm working this morning, at work right now as a matter of fact....more

TLC's Extreme Couponing

The first episode of TLC's "Extreme Couponing" premiered tonight and I actually just finished watching it.  I'm not really sure if I liked it or not, I guess I felt like it was missing something. So okay, I've seen women clip coupons and extreme shop.  And it's impressive, don't get me wrong.  But how many times can you watch basically the same thing?  I hope the show branches out a bit and has tutorials, information and how couponing varies from state to state, which state has the best deals, and even maybe how women can network together and swap coupons they do...more

Today's grocery store/drug store run...

Today I purchased $277.18 worth of items. I paid $148.84, and saved $128.34 (46%).  Not bad. I don't think I'll ever be an "extreme couponer"....more

OK maybe not just once but it wouldn't take much for me to find my closest doubling store ...more

Hi all, I'm new here.

Oh gee, I've started this first entry only about four times now. But wanted to get a picture up first.  I'm just looking for a place to connect I guess. FB is nice, but you can't really be 'thoughtful' there.  Sometimes you need to just ramble to think something through. I'm hoping this will be a place where I can just organize my thoughts a bit. I need that.  ...more
