About Me:

Lisa's ninth book, Crossing The Line From Alcohol Use to Abuse to Dependence, follows on the heals of Loved One In Treatment? Now What! and If You Love Me, You’d Stop! As with her blog, www.breakingthecycles.com, Lisa's books presents 21st century brain and addiction-related research in easy-to-understand terms, against the back drop of her own 40+ years experience with loved ones' alcohol abuse/alcoholism, in order to help change (and in some cases, simply start) the conversations about substance abuse, alcoholism/drug addiction, treatment, dual diagnosis, underage drinking, and secondhand drinking/drugging (SHDD).

Lisa works with variety of groups and individuals, including: medical school students, treatment center clients and their families, troops and military personnel, teachers and parents, middle school students, domestic violence professionals, family law attorneys, clinicians, individuals and families seeking information, college students, community organizations and coalitions. She has appeared as a guest on radio, television and internet programs and is an approved provider of MCLE substance abuse/mental illness education for the California Bar Association.
