I thought it was just me with the problem. After all, I am one of those techie type people. I like gadgets and technology, love the Internet, can’t live without my music—you can see where this is going, I’m sure.

Now, though, I am starting to reconsider. I’m not saying I’m happy with the continuous dropped call situation, but at the same time I am loathe to jump into something new that might be just as bad. I’m nervous about the huge, HUGE number of people that are about to hit Verizon’s network. I’m concerned that the precautions Verizon says they have taken to support the new demands on their network will be akin to a stone in the Grand Canyon once they truly get a sense of how many new subscribers are coming and how much data those subscribers are going to use.

Where do I even start with this? What are MTV executives thinking? Where is the line when it comes to reality TV? Why was the MTV camera crew not named as accessories to the felony domestic abuse they witnessed and did nothing to stop? Where does MTV's responsibility begin when it comes to the lives of these children? And by children, I don't mean the babies. I mean the teen moms themselves, who are being blatantly exploited by MTV. There, I said it.

The manuscript was barely even done before it was finished, as they say. I did manage to get an agent finally, and she sent it out to all the major publishers. Everyone had good things to say about my writing, but no one was sold on the novel. Eventually the agent gave up, advising me to leave this book behind and start on another one. Frankly, by this time the concept of starting all over was out of the question.
