Here's a tiny warning!
If you are a feminist in the classic sense, hungry for more social engineering, you will starve to death here. I love everybody, pray for the whole world, and do what I can to help make life a little brighter for anyone I can, but life is too short, and I consider mine too important to waste, trying to fit into the mold of this post-modern society.
I am a Catholic, Christian, traditional woman. I come from an Italian-American family in upstate NY. My husband (high school sweetheart) and I have been in love since I was 15 and he was 18. I have four boys and a girl, mostly grown now, and I'll be the first to tell you that they are no angels, but they are wonderful, good and decent people and I wouldn't be surprised if they someday end up as saints.I think that any woman who chooses to be home, thinking, working, creating, enjoying her garden and hobbies, and building her home, is truly a woman ahead of her time. She is laboring to build a society and civilization worth keeping. To me, this is true whether or not she has children in the home to raise.
I read quite a bit, research whatever topic suits my fancy, do most of my cooking and baking from scratch, make my own health remedies, and garden. I am currently working a lot with fermented foods, sourdough starter, and seasonal vegetables. I am also brushing up on French, which I studied throughout school.
Outside of home, I am an associate of Little Company of Mary, a Catholic women's religious order whose ministry is to the sick, the dying, and their loved ones. I am also a member of our church Choir, and participate in other ministries of the church. I love to sing, and have been involved in theatre on an off for most of my adult life.
People seem to like to come to my home for a cup of coffee or a meal and a good chat. I love company and I feel honored (most of the time) to be a listening ear to anyone who needs to talk. People need encouragement and they need to laugh, and so I think that is why I was born! So here's hoping you will enjoy visiting me here in my cyber-kitchen and sit and visit for awhile at my virtual table!Conferences
