I’m a Latin American “mami” living and working full-time in Dubai. I spent most of my time living between the US and Ecuador until cupid struck. Ever since then, I have found myself living in the Middle East for the past seven years. After having my first little one, aka “CAT”, I’ve found that I am completely in love with the journey of exploring, discovering, and learning all about this thing called “joyful parenting.” Don’t get me wrong, I have other interests. I love old fashioned Victorian literature, a nicely chilled glass (or two) of pinot grigio, and of course, a good vampire movie/series. But like the nerd I am, I love expanding my knowledge on the subject of mommy-hood however I can, whether through books, websites, blogs, talks with my son’s pediatrician. I feel I can never know or learn too much…the goal posts keep changing! Lately, many of my friends have entered motherhood (and just like me, quite a number are expecting baby #2), there’s been lots of sharing and asking for advice. Which is why I thought, if I love this subject, and I’m talking about it already with my group of mommy friends, and I’m about to embark on the adventure of raising two boys, why not share the ups, downs, whats, how, whys, and general ponderings of being a mom, especially a working mami, in the Middle East.
