In March of 2007, my mother informed me that the news from my father's doctor was not good: Dad would have to undergo an angiogram. Dad underwent a stress test, and after only a few minutes, needed to stop the treadmill. A CAT-SCAN revealed blocked arteries. How much can this poor guy take I wondered to myself? Not quite one year ago, Dad underwent a procedure to treat carcinoid tumors on his colon. So, the thought of another surgical procedure just broke my heart.  Read more >
