Noel Giger

I am a child of God...
...and a work in progress! There was a time that I thought I knew a lot. I thought I had it all together. I thought I had great advice for other people. I guess maybe you could call it progress, enlightenment, wisdom or maturity, but I just know that there is a lot I don't know!

I am a wife...
...happily married to William, my best friend for 15 years so far!

I am a mom...
...to five wonderful children: Calvin, Jordan, Ian, Gavin and Aaron.   Our latest blessing has Down's Syndrome - so we are learning a lot about that!

I am a survivor...
...Ian passed away when he was only 3 months old (SIDS)  I can't believe that I am still here.  I always thought if something ever happened to one of my kids, you might as well bury me right along with them!  Grief is a journey, healing is not a destination but a process!

I am a homemaker...
...not just by virtue of the fact that I am home all day, but because I choose to pursue this as an honorable vocation.  I'm getting better at it every day!

I am a teacher...
...I graduated from "homeschool" in 1993 and have homeschool my children.  Even though my oldest children are returning to school, I am continuing my journey as my children's first teacher.

I am a fragrance consultant...
...I joined Gold Canyon in 2010 because I love filling my home with fragrance - and they truly do have the world's finest fragrances!  My original goal of being a Certified Fundraising Specialist was realized in August of 2011.  I am excited about helping churches, missionaries, schools and all types of non-profits raise critically needed funds by selling candles.

I am an artist...

I live to create.  I claim as treasure what others have cast off.  I am a redesigner.
I see things not as they are, but as they will be:  a cabinet door becomes art, a washer becomes jewelry, a ladder becomes a rack.  Just as people are unique, no two of my pieces are identical.

Creatively speaking, I was an event planner for weddings and corporate events for 10 years, and worked in the marketing departments of 3 consulting firms.  My favorite part of each of these was setting the tone through unique and personalized decor or design.  Since I closed my event planning business in 2006, after Ian's death, I have focused on the things that bring healing to me, the things that redeem this life and all it's experiences.  My art is a combination of these things; music, vintage things that stand the test of time, faith, family, beauty.   I hope that you find inspiration in my work, and I hope that the Ultimate Inspiration will speak to you even more.

I am thrifty...
In my home and in my artwork, part of the challenge and thrill is my self-imposed restriction to use as close to 100% [ReDeemed] materials as possible.  I always give preference to bulk trash pick-up items on the curb, church garage sales and charity thrift stores.  This is fun!  I call my home's style "decor de la curb".

[ReDeemed] Tablescape Thursday #1

I admit.  I've been lurking in the shadows.  I've been admiring your tables from afar.  I've been sad that I could not pull up a chair and join you. ...more
