In the below video of a 1974 Soul Train show, Soul Train creator Don Cornelius is interviewing the Godfather of Soul James Brown, and the clip includes a young Al Sharpton presenting Brown with an award. I thought this clip would be appropriate upon hearing that Don Cornelius has passed away at age of 75 because Soul Train did so much more for the black community than feature music.  Read more >

Norway's Alleged Bomber and the Dangers of Racial Profiling

The bombing and shootings in Norway made me remember an experience I had with racial profiling in 2003, when I worked at an airport kiosk and encountered a Norwegian man taking pictures of workers loading a passenger plane.
