Thirty something girl err woman who finds it hard to believe that if I were out in the dating world, I would be considered a "Cougar!" Meow. At this point, that doesn't effect me as I am a wife of 16 years and stay at home mom to 3 kids. What a rewarding job, day in and day out. I find it especially "rewarding" when I've spent serious time on making what I thought was a delicious dinner, only to find all three kids gagging themselves and complaining that we weren't eating chicken nuggets. And just when my PMS'ing is gone and I'm feeling human again, my teen daughter will offer up unsolicited fashion advice, "Did you wear that all day today?" What other job would you find such honest feedback??? And so these are my daily experiences. It wasn't always like this (first of all because my children were younger and didn't have mean thoughts of their own yet) and from 2004-2009 I worked! Outside of the home, I mean. I was a real estate agent. I liked it and made good money but I always felt guilty when I wasn't with the kids and then when I was home with the kids, I felt guilty that I wasn't working. No balance. You see, I am lucky though, I technically do not need to work. I chose to take up a career as a realtor but when I got in it...I really got sucked in and that wasn't working for anyone. So I'm back to being a "stay at home mom" which is what I love to do! Seeing how this is my job now, I'm thinking, shouldn't I be #1 at this? Shouldn't I have a home that is running like a well oiled machine? Shouldn't my kids love what I make for dinner every night? I have all of this time on my hands and what do I have to show for it? I should be 10 lbs lighter, have organized closets, hot meals on the table every night, be volunteering more, be an ace at yoga, read more books, be up on current events, be "well groomed" (kinda like my dog??) The list goes on and on....
