Safa is a writer based in Denver, Colorado. Much of her work is based in memoir and nonfiction. Her dramatic pieces include the one woman shows "Cover Girl," "Khomeini and Me" and "Are You My Father?" All three have received readings in Denver and New York City, and "Cover Girl" was recently presented at the Women Playwrights International Conference at the University of Mumbai. Other writings have appeared online in Racialicious, iranian.com and Campus Progress (a project for the Center for American Progress). She is currently the author of a blog, "Naked Lady in a White (Silk) Dress," which has been featured online in Shakesville. It looks at the engagement process and the wedding culture from the point of view of a burgeoning feminist and a nude model. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and recently completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College.
