About Me:

My name is Sally Huss and I am an artist/designer/writer.  When I write I say that I am an artist and when I paint I say that I am a writer.  In this way I remain perfectly relaxed doing whatever I am doing.  And, being relaxed is one of the main ingredients of happiness.  And, happiness is one of the main ingredients in everything I create from books to baby bibs to large paintings.

I am a native Californian, graduating from USC with a degree in Fine Arts.  At the same time I was developing my art, I was also honing my tennis skills.  I became National Junior Champion and a Wimbledon semi-finalist.  This was pre-professional women’s tennis.  So at 22 I put away my rackets and went to work.

I always had wonderful jobs.  I worked in television then worked for Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. in film and eventually ran Paul Simon’s music publishing company.  Then I decided to go back outside.  I created a special way to play tennis.  Some called it Zen tennis.  I didn’t call it anything, but my students loved it.  They included fun and creative people like Barbra Streisand, Joel Gray, Milos Forman, Jill St. John, Helen Reddy and Larry Hagman.

In the 1980’s with the help of my husband Marv Huss, formerly head of advertising and promotion for Hallmark Cards, I returned to art and writing in a big way.  Today it delights me to see my art dance across thousands of products from lines of clothing, purses, greeting cards, children’s books to baby bibs.  My paintings and gift art brighten walls and uplift hearts in homes, office buildings and hotel lobbies across the country, and have even found a place in The White House.

My favorite new project is a daily, syndicated newspaper feature called HAPPY MUSINGS.  These are little pieces of art with little, life thoughts.  I will share them here on my blog with a few comments about each.  I have created these HAPPY MUSINGS to brighten the day of whoever might read them.  I have created this blog to connect with positive, like-minded people.  I feel that all people with love in their hearts secretly hold hands with each other to help uplift the world.  I am hopeful that this blog will help connect such people in a way that we can openly hold hands with each other.  I hope you enjoy my MUSINGS and I hope to hear from you.

You may view my art and products on my web site at:  www.sallyhuss.com and in stores around the country.
