Motivation?

Does anyone else have a hobby or love to do some activity but lacks the motivation?  I wonder at times if it is pregnancy or I just slack off when to comes to anything outside of work. During my work day I meet many deadlines and never procrastinate but when it comes to projects at home and sewing it is hard to finish things for me at times. I have so many great ideas and TONS of fabric but at the end of the day I want to relax, read a book and go to bed.  I hope it is just the drain from 11 hour work days and being 6 1/2 months pregnant.     Read more >

Easier?

This week seems easier, but it is also because I knew what I was going to feature ahead of time...  I have so many projects and ideas floating in me head that I look forward to my work holiday on Monday.  It will be nice to be able to work on sewing when it isn't 8/9 PM at night and it will be my week off of blogging :) I also am learning to balance my time.  On my weeks off I sew every night but it seems like me weeks on I am so busy between work, blog and life.  I love it.  I just am going through a sewing withdrawl.   Read more >

Sewing Mania

It's good to have a hobby.  It keeps a person happy.    Before we started our sewing feature blog, I had one hobby- volleyball.  Volleyball is not something you can do at home, but I still find time to go and play with friends.  But, now that I'm always looking at sewing projects and featuring such awesome sewn items, sewing has become my other hobby.  I'm not kidding when I write that I constantly think about sewing.    Now if I could just sew as much as I think about it.  Okay, maybe not.  But it is nice to  Read more >

More Time For Me

Now that we are getting more comfortable and organized in blogging and taking care of our sewing site, it seems like there isn't as much need to spend so much time on it- and I am having withdrawals.  I find myself staring at the screen and waiting for an email to come in or I'll be lying in bed thinking of ways we can make our blog better, but the big lesson in all of this- this is a good thing.   I have a family, a life and our sewing site does not come first.  I knew it would take up a lot of my time when it was in its infancy (it still is, but it's growing  Read more >

About Me:
Currently I spend my time playing with my two beautiful children, volunteering as a co-coordinator for Postpartum Support International, playing volleyball and watching life happen with my honey of seven years. I am a big fan of all things sewing, but honestly it makes me super nervous. I'm too much of a perfectionist. I've dabbled here and there, but when comes to the big projects, I turn to the expert in my life: Eva. I'm the personality; Eva's the talent. On to the other half of the Sew It To Me duo, I'm Eva. I started to sew in middle school and took a breather after the disaster of the promotion dress my mom and I worked on together. My mom and I swore we would never work on another sewing project again; and we haven't. After graduating I pursued a degree in Fashion/Costume Design and got married. I may not have my degree (and work in real estate) but I still love all things art, design and sewing. My projects have ranged from quilts/blankets, fabric design, costumes, wedding dresses, formals, upcylcing (creating something new from something old) and currently anything baby as we are expecting our first child this year. 8+ years of marriage to a musician has taught me to love life and never give up on my dreams. I hope our blog ignites your passion to get out the machine, needles, fabric and sew!
