I am a New Zealander who is married to a Japanese guy and living in a somewhat rural part of Japan, far away from the bright lights and excitement of Tokyo.

We moved back to Japan from Germany where we lived for nearly 3 years, during which time I was in forced unemployment due not being able to work. On returning to Japan in February I found it was much harder to get work than I had thought, so I set out to become the best foreign housewife Japan has ever seen. Since I have never been one for cleaning, don't like cooking so much, this has not been so easily achieved. I decided to document my progress to ultimate housewifeliness through my blog. I've kind of given up on being the ultimate housewife, now I just write my blog for fun about the funny, wierd, frustrating and even boring things that happen when you live in the japanese countryside.
