Saltines and Airheads

So it’s 10:02 this morning, and what am I doing?   Guess.  Read more >

He said, she said, and we all judge

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve undoubtedly heard about Jon and Kate’s “scandal” via not only their show, but also every tabloid and news outlet in the free world.  He said, she said, and we all judge.   Read more >

Birthday Mania

I live in a cul-de-sac, which I love.  There are three of us families on this cul-de-sac with little kids, and all of them are boys.  Even better. We play together, walk together, referee together.  And, apparently, party together.  Each of the other families have one boy each. One is the same age as my youngest, and the other is almost exactly a year younger.  All three of their birthdays fall within the same week.  And because we are all such astute planners, we have all scheduled their birthday parties on the same day.  Yes.  *mayhem ensues*  Read more >

The Black Thumb's Gonna Rise Again

I am famously inept at gardening.  I generally do well with pets and kids, but plant life is apparently where my capabilities end.  I do my part. I water them, set them in the correct sun/shade combination, and such.  They generally flourish for about a month or so and then commit slow, agonizing suicide.   Read more >

About Me:

I am an Army wife with three kids, two dogs, three cats, and not enough hours in the day.  Beaker, Calvin, and Linus are of course psuedonyms for my boys; I tend to reserve their real names for those who know them personally.  I use my animals' real names, however, since I generally don't much care who knows them.  I am from Oklahoma, as implied by my screenname, and currently have the privilege of residing here as well.  Soldier, of course, is my husband, and a member of the US Army.  I am neither violently pro-military nor anti-military; I tend to straddle the oftentimes perilous fence of civilian/military life.  That said, I do not tolerate any sort of disrespect towards servicemembers in general; they have given up their own freedom so that you may have yours.  However, this blog is not about military life or parenting or anything in particular except whatever sort of random thoughts churn about in my head like the tornadoes my state is so famous for.  There will be a little bit of everything, rather akin to the buffet at Golden Corral, so as we say here in Okie-town, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute. It'll change.
