National Craft Month: Art Like a Child

Kids often have the best energy when it comes to crafting because they embrace being creative, they call themselves artists, and they could care less about the mess, color pallet, or medium that they are playing with.  And I stress, playing with.  It is play for them and they jump in with all the vim and vigor that they can to make their art.  Whether they are using play-dough, clay, watercolors, markers, or stickers, they are smiling, laughing, and creating.  You rarely hear them judging their work negatively, but rather showing you their amazi  Read more >

It's National Craft Month!  Yippee!!  Now what? Now, for those of you who are not crafters, this might seem like an odd thing to blog about.  For those of us who are crafters, however, this is like month-long crafty Mardi Gras.  What I love about this month is that crafters from all over come together and make stuff.  It is that simple.  That pure.  That awesome.  Read more >

About Me:

I am a crafter, mother, wife, cousin, friend, sister, daughter, and work-a-holic. I currently work for Fiskars Americas in Wisconsin as their Content & Education Manager. I started with them part time as one of the founding four lead Fiskateers - yes, those Fiskateers - and have since crossed over to work for the company. I was a teacher for 10 years in the Chicagoland area and moved to WI to work full time in the crafting world. I have 2 boys and a hubby as well as a cat named Daphne and I blog, facebook, and tweet about life and crafting. I travel the country teaching people about the power of crafting and gardening and the joy of it as well. I truly feel blessed to have my hobby as my profession and work hard at what I do. I am a Master Gardener and avid home cook to top it all off.  Most of all I am Crafter. Gardener. Foodie. Mother. Blogger.
