Tara Livesay

I have been living and learning in Port au Prince, Haiti for the last six and a half years. I'm interested in maternal health, helping famililies stay together, fighting for the rights of the poor, and caring for and walking along side the marginalized women of Haiti. I am a distance runner, a midwife in training, and am raising seven fabulous and funny kids ranging in age from 4 to 22. I am also married to the world's very nicest person.

Raising Third Culture Kids

Two years ago our family packed up and moved to Haiti. Prior to our move we were hearty Minnesotans living a normal suburban life. In the past two years I've watched as my children, ranging in age from 1 to 18 have tried to reconcile their two worlds. They have lived in the land of vast prosperity; they have lived in the land of complete devestation. They are changed.
