I'm a stay-at-home wife, mom, and blogger. I scrapbook, read, take pictures, and started a blog a few months ago to share the life lessons I learn each day.

figure out who you are...then push past the fear

Lately I've read several books that aren't really connected but ironically have had similar common denominators throughout them. One is Katie Couric's The Best Advice I Ever Got....more

Swallows and lilies. Solomon and Slim Helu.

Flowers and birds. Solomon and Carlos Slim Helu.Only God could connect these for a lesson on trust....more

do something already...enough's enough

"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences." {Proverbs 22:3, NLT}Have you ever been aware of a situation that you know is heading for trouble, but the people involved appear to be doing nothing about it? Frustrating, isn't it?...more

Well, I guess once you video one...you gotta video them all. ;) Our kids were all so impressed with G's performance that they decided they wanted a piece-of-the-action also. {What.a.shock.}...more

A new routine has begun in our home.It all started when a friend of ours sent her usual Christmas gift to our kids...books. {Happy dancing all around!} One of those books was a devotional, Jesus Calling, for kids. At the beginning of this year, I added a book, The Pursuit of Holiness by Jeff Bridges, to my devotional reading time. I usually get about a page finished before I have to stop and chew on it for a while....more

"It's good!"

So last night I sat and watched my husband receive an answer he's been praying for. It was incredible. He went on a 21-day fast to seek God, and last night...he caught up with Him. We were watching a broadcast that was nowhere near where we live when God turned {as it were}, looked at my husband, and spoke {through Bishop T.D. Jakes}....more

the storm reveals the gold...

"A flood once washed away a poor man's home and mill, taking with it everything he owned in the world. He stood at the scene of his great loss, brokenhearted and discouraged. Yet after the waters had subsided, he saw something shining in the riverbanks that the flood had washed bare. 'It looks like gold,' he said. And it was gold. The storm that had impoverished him...made him rich....more

if it's a God-given dream...it can survive the darkest of places

God gives you a dream. So obviously the next step is to...jump right out there and get going on it, right? Not always.God's the only One I know who gives you the answer before He sends the test. He shows you the dream, the end result, what He has planned...first. And maybe it's not completely clear in the beginning...maybe you only get a glimpse...either way though, you have an idea of what's ahead....more
