I'm a business woman, wife, and mother of two children, I like to seek out other women who make a difference in the world. I come from a family of very strong, wonderfully gifted and philanthropic women. My grandmother, mother and aunts have told many a story of their lives, the joys that they shared and the hardships that they endured. Each story was complete with a full visual set-up of the location and how it was decorated - down to what each person might have been wearing. I have attempted to recreate those stories through what I collect for my business. And without knowing it, they opened a door to an amazing glimpse of family culture and history for me. In doing so, gave me a jump start in developing my "eye" and, later, a means of earning a living. I will be forever grateful for those women and their stories, and the gift of knowing who I am and what I came from.

LeAnn Stephenson founded The Vintage Laundry in May of 2005 with the opening of the original store on Jefferson St. in Austin, Texas, which sold reworked vintage furniture and lighting and fabulous flea market finds accented with tons of heirloom linen pieces. She now has an online store, website and blog that help her to meet other amazing women.
