About Me:

Cynthia Friedlob blogs as Link TextThe Thoughtful Consumer. She suggests a 3-step plan to reclaim our long-lost consumer sanity. No paragon of virtue herself, she explains that we are often oblivious when we make a purchase, resulting in cluttered homes and harm to our environment. But there is hope! Step 1: Get rid of clutter. Step 2: When buying, distinguish between need and want; don't just mindlessly plunk down cash or, more likely, a credit card. Step 3: Think about how the purchase affects others and our planet. Get sane!

Cynthia is also the author of Link TextSorting It Out: One Disorganized Woman Solves the Problem of Too Much Stuff, a lighthearted book about her efforts to unclutter her home and simplify her life. The book is packed with helpful suggestions for others facing the same dilemma.

Cynthia's career includes many years as a writer of children's television shows and family feature films. She had the privilege of working closely with the legendary Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, Stan Lee, and Jim Henson on numerous shows including "Scooby and Scrappy Doo," "The Smurfs," "Alvin & the Chipmunks," "The Jetsons" and "Fraggle Rock."

She's also an accomplished fine artist. Her award-winning work has been exhibited in gallery shows across the country and is in collections from Hawaii to the east coast and Canada.

Cynthia is a graduate of the University of Denver with BA and MA degrees. She's a member of the Writers Guild of America, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). She lives in the Los Angeles area where she paints, writes and tries very hard to be thoughtful.
