Darren and I are working on our home.  We moved in in 2007, and we have sanded and painted and added and subtracted.  The work is obviously never ending, but at some point we will reach our goals for our home.  We have a vision, an image of what we want.  Some of that we have already fulfilled.  I love the process, though I would love to have our downstairs not be a collecting point for my husband's workshop, his tools, and junk that we have nowhere else to put right now.  The downstairs needs new wallboard, new paint, new floor (we had a flood from an overflowing toilet that damaged  Read more >

Bored Very Late At Night

I'm writing here very late at night.  I don't really feel tired yet.  I was thinking about forgiveness.  It sometimes is so hard to forgive someone you love who hurt you.  I hope to do that, though.  To really truly forgive, not just to say the words or to think I might have forgiven him.... it would change everything.  He didn't cheat, didn't lie...  Read more >

My Rant about Fashion

Okay.  I hate fashion these days.  I've hated it for a long time.  It has always been designed around basically one body time, the hourglass, with a butt.  Not all women have this body type.  Jeans are hard to shop for, as I personally do not have a butt, or at least not one that can fill the jeans well enough.  I always have extra material in the back that winds up looking lumpy and unflattering.  I do have a tummy, which if I try to squeeze into a smaller size the fabric may fit my butt but be way to tight for the tummy/waist area.  My tummy is bigger than my butt, not hugely so,  Read more >

The Skin You're In

I was looking through a magazine the other day, and the fact that so many people in it seemed very, very tan.  Where I am, it's winter and truly winter except for the absence of snow.  It is cold, gray, and wet.  Even when it is not cold, gray, and wet, I can't tan.  I have never in my life actually had a suntan.  The gals I work with all head to the tanning bed during this time of year, as it is the South, and one is made to feel hardly a woman unless you are naturally or unnaturally darker skinned.  I don't think too that the "maxim" here of "everyone looks better wit  Read more >

About Me: 
I'm a committed Christian, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.  I love to read and write, and I'm obsessed with fixing up the home I've bought with my husband.  I've never blogged or anything, but it sounded cool and like something fun I could do when I have some time.  I have been married to my husband Darren since 2006, and we live in Tennessee near Knoxville.  We have a wonderful little dog, Chloe, and three cats.  We absolutely love animals.  We haven't begun a family yet, but we're hoping to in the future.
