My blog (http://umbrellablog.com) is for all those who still don’t know what they want to be when they grow up and those that dream to be something different…something more. It’s about trying new things and sharing the experience. It’s a place for our photos and art to live and be seen by the world. It’s for reminiscing and bragging and challenging your peers. It looks to the future by examining the past. It is forgiving and liberating; often funny and inspiring. It’s everything under the umbrella.

I think most of us bloggers love sharing ideas and getting encouragement. We share a piece of ourselves becoming vulnerable to the world and in return we get community, friendship, advice, recipe ideas, crafting tips, a pat on the back. We share music and books; inspiration and more. It’s like tea time on steroids…anytime…anywhere…in the world.

Although Umbrella Blog does have guest contributors from time to time, the main author of this blog is me, Jamie Neilsen. I am a Seattle resident photographer with a day job working for a company started by a nerd turned billionaire. I hope that one day it will all make sense.
