How I got to Honesty

My daughters like clothes shopping with me; they feel safe because I am honest. I used to cringe every time they said that; most of my life I could hardly ever be called honest and I felt that my dishonesty had made me more treacherous than safe.  Read more >

A new world, a new Community

Be the change you want to see. So what is stopping us from ending the gruesome wars, world hunger and pollution? Marianne Williamson keeps saying we are not trying hard enough to be the change that we seek. I agree and I would like to add that we actually haven't a clue how to be the change that we want to see and that we are not looking hard enough either.  Read more >

Community is Dead; Long live Community

Money as a currency is not evil, but society's illusion that money is our primary and only currency IS evil. To give us the illusion that to be safe and secure we need lots of money to buy our independence is a cruel myth. Because of that very obsession with independence we live fearfully and alone and we are NOT splendidly playing a big game.  Read more >

All Conversations are not equal in Intimacy

I find it very exciting to finally see HOW I can now choose to manifest myself as a great base camp by connecting intimately with my friends and family or HOW I can choose to ignore my lack of conversation skills and thus continue to go it alone and stay small. It is useful to realize that through conversation;  Read more >

I ask questions. I want to play a different game that is more healthy and more fun. So I need to unlearn and relearn about life and relationships.

About Me:

For half a century I lived from a fixed; ‘this is how you do it’.
I did what was expected from me.

In the second half of my life I live from; ‘is there another way to do this?’ and I do what I love.

I am a career counselor by trade . . . I’ve seen enough to know that the question; ‘is there another way to do this?’ is a valid one. Many times the obvious road didn’t work for people; it didn’t get them there, they were actually looking for another way!

So here I am, over 50.
I am seeing my daughters grow up to be beautiful young women, I am divorced, I now have a second relationship that works . . . and I am thrilled about the amazing new explanations that are around nowadays that I use as guides to explore ‘other ways to do this’.

I have grown to love this question ‘is there another way to do this?’ so much.
It is opening up whole new worlds for me.

Here is a sense of what I mean:

Food is no longer the same; it now nurtures. I grow my own food as much as possible, now I have a new respect for what nature offers, my health and the planet Earth. The food I eat nurtures my body, mind and soul and leaves the Earth clean and green too!

Relationships are no longer the same either. I found my voice in my relationship and we now compliment each other.
This is big for me; both of us are growing into our greatness, nobody is left behind. BTW my friendships have also changed for the better, now I am so much clearer about what contributing means. In my world 'one way streets' have vanished.

My attitude about work has changed dramatically.
I love my work after being brave enough to get into business! I adore doing it our way.

I am thrilled to be a founder of Women Like Me which is an online learning community that provides new explanations and a ‘how to’ for conscious women who desire to live life from the question ‘is there another way to do this?’ I work in heaven, at home surrounded by nature venturing in cyberspace with the best people.

Holidays have become a blast. I sea kayak, camp and tramp. I am physically spending my holidays in perfect places that could be pictures on one of those nature calendars.

AND I am no longer the same! This is what excites me the most; it means that I am growing!

So there, you have the basics about me.
If you want the full story about my journey, Wilmas Blog is the place to go. It is an interesting place; I'd love to meet you there so we can swap stories.
