The Milk Wars: Thoughts from a soon-to-be Working Mom

With less than a week left before I return to work, these are the things that are going through my mind:

1. Will I be able to juggle it all?

2. Will I miss out on all of the "important" milestones?

3. Will I be the kind of mother and role model that I want my child to have?

And finally...

4. Will I be able to keep the connection between us even though I'll be away for 8+ hours a day?

Then, I found this article in the NY Times entitled "Milk Wars."

Working moms are often faced with a challenge - can they continue to breastfeed their babies for the first 6-months of life, as recommended by the World Health Organization, or must they switch to a synthetic substance to feed their children once they return to work?

I'm striving to make it to the 6-month mark with breastfeeding my son.

Maybe it's because I feel like it's the least I can do or maybe it's because I truly believe that I can do it all.
