Mint Tin Upcycled Mini Album
Have you been snapping a ton of photos this summer? Me too. It's not the "taking" of the pictures that's tough for me... it's the What do I do with them? afterwards that sometimes gets me stuck.
Here's a simple and cheap DIY idea for showing off those precious pictures. The finished project is so small... you can tuck it in your purse. And the next time someone asks you about what you did for vacation-- you can show them!
Free your memories from your cell phone and camera... using a upcycled mint tin.
To make a mini photo album out of a mint tin, you only need a few supplies: a mint tin, Mod Podge, double sided tape, a map or paper, stuff for embellishing like a small piece of ribbon and a button and most importanty... a small stack of vacation photos. Print them out (3" x 2 " size) in batches with your home printer. You don't even need photo paper... regular white printer paper or cardstock works great.
Cut out a piece of map or paper larger than the lid of the tin.
Paint the lid with Mod Podge.
Adhere paper. When dry, use a nail file to file around edges-- making paper fit perfectly.
Measure, cut and attach a small piece of ribbon with hot glue.
Use the insert from the mint tin to trace and cut out paper for interior.
Print and cut out some 3' x 2' photos. Use double sided tape to adhere.
If you want, embellish top with stickers and a button and toss in purse.
Next time someone wants to take a peek at your vacation photos, you're set! Enjoy your vacation memories again and again!
