So we kicked it BlogHer style this past weekend with our get-together at Don Mills Brickworks. At first Mother Nature threatened to screw with us but then she said "just kidding!" and gave us so much sunshine that she may have scorched a few of us.
We had a great turn out of bloggers and family members; I think all the kids loved looking for turtles, koi, ducks, and cormorants. By the way, he Brick Works is a beautiful place and the Farmer's Market had some awesome offerings: I saw waffles in many children's hands, paper cones of fresh fries, and the venison kebabs smelled delicious. But I had no time to eat because there was coffee and bloggers to meet! Catherine was there (of course!) along with Tatiana, Emma, Rebecca, Lisa B, Kgirl, Kelly, Aurelia, and Racheal.
We discussed who is actually going to BlogHer, why each of us are going, what blogging genres are represented there, plus all sorts of things about sessions and parties before morphing into discussions about everything from carrying breastmilk over the border to Toronto Daycare Shortages. By the way, this post by Playground Confidential is a must read for anyone in the city who isn't aware of what the upcoming harmonization of bylaws concerning daycares and how it is going to impact the already hard-to-find daycare spots in the city.
So now in addition to having a few new blogs to read, we each have some familiar faces to look for when we hit Chicago this July. Mission Toronto-Meet-Up accomplished with flare.
