Self-evaluation is never easy. No one likes to admit when, or how many times, they are wrong. This is especially true for me. But, self-evaluation is necessary for any real, beneficial changes to occur in ones behaviors. I had my kids so close together I swear you can call me insane! My youngest was born when my oldest was a week and a half shy of his 3rd birthday, and guess what!, I have four of them! wowzers, huh! I wouldn't trade it for the world and they are my entire world.

From that point on, through his senior year in high school, he was labeled an elite gymnast, life controlled by the rigors of relatively intense training and travel. Pregnancy and I have a love/hate relationship. I am not one to have an easy time with pregnancy in the first trimester. I'm the mama with her head in the toilet, the trash can, the parking lot of Target, the random grocery bag I find lying in my car. It's just not a pretty thing. There is no beauty, no poise, no food left in my stomach. But it is also during this time that I am most excited at the prospect of this new little life inside of me. ...more
I'm one of "those moms". I know I am. And you know what? I'm proud of it. Sure, it's completely ostracized me from other moms and play groups, but who needed them anyway? I will shout it LOUD AND PROUD: My 15 month old is *BRILLIANT*. People don't like to hear it, or even acknowledge it, but I don't care. The only problem is, I can't take any credit for it all.
