Multiple baby cute overload!

This week I'd like to highlight some of the bloggers in our network who write about parenting twins, triplets, quadruplets or quintuplets. I looked at over 100 blogs by parents of twins and more. By the end of the day it was like complete overload! In fact I kept thinking of the Rules of Cuteness, like "A thing, accompanied by a smaller version of that thing, is always cute." My new rule: a small child, accompanied by one or more siblings of the same age, is always cute! ...more

football playing girl ends season on a high note!

i have not blogged in a while, but i have so much to talk about! my football playing daughter ended her season with a championship win....ok ok i know it is so not the superbowl. for goodness sakes its only our community youth league and the players are in third and fourth grade! but this little adventure into a male dominated sport has been the best thing my nine year old has done in her short little life! and it has been a pleasure for me, singlemomming it, to watch! maybe because i was living out my girlhood fantasy through her, or maybe because really she is just that good!...more

Yes, I am a woman and I am willing to honestly talk about our ways, while most women would rather deny the truth. Yes men, tears can be fake......more

To "H1N1" Or Not

Lately it seems like everyone is blogging about the H1N1 vaccine, or at least has an opinion, so thought I'd join in, too. When it comes to getting vaccines, I'm one who follows the recommendations without much questioning. The only changes I make is getting a thimerasol-free flu shot for my son. Apparently, the flu shot still contains small amounts of thimerosal, the ingredient at the crux of the autism debate. And while I don't truly believe that thimerosal is the reason behind the autism/vaccine connection, I still feel better if I order the shot without it. ...more

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. I'm asking everyone if they could light a candle at 7:00 pm tonight and leave it lit for an hour. That candle will represent all the babies who have become angels to soon. I personally have three little angels. Please help us remember....more

Food and Family: What They Made for You - Making It Your Own

My grandfather made the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. I am a cookie freak in a family of cookie freaks and they are my seminal cookie, the cookie to dominate all other undeserving cookies in the world. I can still see them stacked in careful waxed paper layers in the tins, perfect chip-to-dough ratio, just a bit harder than your average chocolate chip cookie, lovely and bumpy and exactly perfect mix of sugar and salt....more

This is just lovely.
