A lot has gone on in the last couple of weeks. I went on a great family vacation to Georgia, celebrated my birthday, and enjoyed the apparent start of a blazingly hot summer. But, rather than talk about those fun things today, I figured it was time to talk about the elephant you all didn't see in the room, which is that we're expecting our first baby in November.
I started this blog a few days before I found out that I'm pregnant, so it has been pretty tricky to balance these two new things in my life. I needed to say things to you guys other than "all the food is gross and I'm so tired," but wasn't capable of thinking about much else! Happily, I'm getting some of that second trimester energy they promise, so there's no need to fear that this will become an all-preggo-complaints blog.
But there's some reason to wonder whether it will become an all-tiny-knits blog because, you guys, baby knitting is SO CUTE. Look at this little sweater I made for ours!
It's a Puerperium, made with a ball of Cascade 220 Superwash in Blue Velvet that was leftover from Penrose. I got the adorable buttons at Brooklyn General, which is quickly becoming my LYS (it's convenient on the drive to the grocery store and has great stuff). This is a great free pattern.
I'm just hoping baby ever fits, since I was actually born a bit too big to wear this (sorry Mom)!
