A tourists from China tries a video camera at a duty-free retail store at Tokyo's Akihabara district July 1, 2010. Japan relaxed its visa requirements for Chinese tourists on Thursday, hoping to attract more well-heeled travellers from its giant neighbour and cash in on demand for electronics, cosmetics and luxury goods. Momversation -- the vlogging site that regularly features bloggers Alice Bradley, Rebecca Woolf, Asha Dornfest, Heather Armstrong, Daphne Brogden, Giyen Kim, Maggie Mason, Dana Loesch, Mindy Roberts and Jessica Gottlieb -- just launched its newest foray into video: Her Story. Which is about the stories of nonbloggers, or maybe not-necessarily-bloggers. Which is interesting to me. People with stories who don't write them on the Internet? WHAT?

So I got parent company DECA's co-founder Chris Kimbell on the horn to dig in with some questions.

Chris told me Momversation is a conversation between top mombloggers, three times a week, whereas its spin-off Her Story is going to be about everyday women who are not necessarily bloggers. Basically, they're going to set out across America and tell the story of contemporary women's experiences, but sort of not set out, because? It's all shot by the woman or her family members, not a professional camera crew. (Although it is professionally edited.)

Momversation will drop from three times a week to once a week.

Parent company DECA has cast the first round of Her Story already but is seeking candidates for the second round of casting now, and they want BlogHer's help. Specifically, they're looking for bloggers with the following categories:

  • "A Mom Will Do Anything"
  • Addictions
  • Boss Issues
  • "Broke, Not Broken"
  • Extreme Families
  • Guilt
  • Heroes
  • In-Laws
  • "Mr Right?"
  • Revenge
  • Pets

Would you want to be on this show? Shoot your own video? Do you vlog? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

I'd love to "write" or video blog about this topic. I'm happily married hoping to start a family at this point in my life but have several lessons learned about finding my mr. right.

Michelle writes Little Square Light, a blog about finding inspiration balance the delicious and healthy things in life...and everything along the way.

Can I make it? I am not really blogging through writing but I am blogging through my videos. I get bored in writing so I rather make my interesting vid that tells more about me and things around me. Looks interesting!

It seems as though I might be the perfect candidate, although I am a blogger.

I make my own videos, write about the dysfunctional side of life and about my true love and our three boys.

But I don't really do the video thing. (Especially not with this heinous summer cold.)

It sounds a bit like People Magazine--how they blend the stories of well-known people with the not-so-well-known.

I think the only episode I'd qualify for (or be willing to talk about) is "A Mom Will Do Anything." I think we have a crazy enough story of what we did from BEFORE the kids came to support what came next.
