Monday Musings: On Doing Nothing
By FlyingC on March 03, 2014
Do you ever have a day where you just have to do absolutely nothing? Today was that day for me, and it was awesome. But, I'm writing this at 2300, cuz I haven't done a thing all day today. But today was cold and there was snow on the ground, and crazy we-don't-know-how-to-drive-in-snow Oklahomans out and about, so it was a good day to stay home. Did I mention it was cold? Cold enough for fuzzy slippers, a bathrobe, and a space heater! Even the animals were hunkered down in blankies. And this weekend was crazy busy at work, so I had an excuse to sleep in, or stay in my bed for a while, doing nothing.
So I spent a bit of time reading in bed, with my heated-up corn bag on top of my toes, and my Kindle held in such a way as to prevent my fingers from being out from under the covers. Then of course, before I got up, I had to feed the dragons in my Dragon Lands game on my phone, and read all the new FMLs. I finally got up and migrated to the living room for a cup or four of coffee, at which point I decided I would be "productive" so I went and grabbed the laptop and took it with me to the couch.
Where I spent the next several hours being "inspired" on Pinterest. Doncha just LOVE Pinterest? So many great ideas, and so many more reasons to not get up and go do them; there are so many more pins to look at! I did find some group boards and asked for an invite, so I guess that counts as something.
Well, by now it was way past lunch, and since the day was nearly half gone already, how would I have time to really get anything done? So instead, I took a nap. Reason number two I'm still awake at 2300.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer, I think, and my hubby tells me the roads are clearing. So tomorrow I suppose I will get up and shower, and go run errands, and do laundry, and then come home and write the paper that is due for my Pathophysiology class Thursday. Tomorrow, I will not be doing nothing, because tomorrow, I will have to do all the somethings I didn't do today!
