More evidence that you can rewire your brain at ANY age
By ParentInProgress on June 13, 2012
Remember when scientists thought the wiring of your brain was established by the time you were a young adult? (If you don't, you might want to get some brain training to strengthen your memory!)
Well now scientists continue to uncover proof that your brain can be "rewired" at ANY age - even an advanced age!
In a study recently published in "Neuron," researchers shared their findings. How does this information impact the average person?
1. (the bad news) If you stop learning and experiencing new things as you age, you'll lose a "substantial amount" of brain connections
2. (the good news) Intensive, one-on-one brain training (NOT tutoring!) can significantly help rewire your brain. So if you want to strengthen cognitive skills like attention, memory, visual and auditory processing, logic and reasoning, and processing speed, look into brain training - whether you're 9 or 99!
