More than I can Chew
By thepreacherswife on February 26, 2010
You know the feeling. I know you do. It did not seem like such a huge task when I offered to do it. Besides, I had a new recipe I wanted to try. But, now, here I am, another wild weekend staring me in the face and I have to make - cookies.
Understand that I am, indeed, a cookie monster. I love cookies and, usually, I love baking cookies. It's enjoyable and relaxing for me and I have discovered that I am pretty doggone good at it. My heart skips with joy when The Preacher walks by and tells me my cookies are "cool" or my youngest, The Bean, tells me in her sweet little voice, "Your cookies are so pretty, Mom." And, apparently, as I have practiced and developed my skills I have been baking up a nice bit of pride to serve right along with the cookies.

I bust out with . . . "Oh, I'll do some cookies. How about with a monogram? That would be fabulous." What?!? I don't even know anyone who makes monogram cookies. I don't know I've seen them in print anywhere but Martha Stuart's Living - and Martha I am not (shocking, I know).
Now, it's Friday. Plenty to do tomorrow, but I will be up early, monogramming cookies. yea. If they're disastrous then I will not take them to the party and will make some lemon bars instead.
Because I don't know any other way to be,
