How to Throw a Mother's Day Eve Party

BlogHer Original Post

Mother’s Day Eve is the night before Mother’s Day—and a night for you moms and your pals to get what you need—each other.

Planning a Mother’s Day Eve can be as easy or as over the top as you want to make it. The idea is that women across the country are all participating. Some of us will take that evening all to ourselves and run a bubble bath and do some reading (ahem, Mamalode!) and some of us will call our girls and go out together. Some of us will throw a big old shindig. Best part, it all counts. Mother’s Day Eve ® should be exactly what YOU need it to be.

In Missoula, we have been throwing this party for nine years, so ours falls squarely into the “over the top” category. We are hosting a party downtown with other businesses offering yoga, pampering, wining, and dining. Our party will have dancing, a photo booth, and a celebratory flashmob to launch our new website that night.

Here are some ways to get started hosting your own event on Saturday, May 11.

Plan a Flashmob!

"Raise those hands, this is our party!" (to quote the great Macklemore): The wonderful ladies at Oula which is seriously the funnest workout, like, EVER, have put together an instructional video of this super-fun dance.

Wherever you are, you can flashmob with us: Learn the dance, or even bits of it, and share your footage on our Facebook page. We will compile a massive flashmob video.

Enter to Win an iPad

However you celebrate, Mamalode wants to share it with you! One person will win an iPad donated by www.unitedluv.com (their mission is to get iPads into oncology units). This giveaway is open to U.S. residents age 18 or older. Winners will be selected via random draw, and will be notified by e-mail. You have 72 hours to respond and claim the prize, otherwise a new winner will be selected. Read the official rules on Mamalode.com to find out how to enter, and good luck!
