Music Monday: Colours (Captain Cuts Remix) - Grouplove

In my opinion, this is one of those rare instances in which the remix is better than the original song. Don't get me wrong, Grouplove is great, but there's something about this mix that makes it impossible for me to stop listening to.

Interestingly enough, while searching for a YouTube link to post here I found out that this version of Colours is featured in FIFA 12. Who says YouTube comments can't be educational? Anyway, upon closer inspection, it seems like the FIFA 12 soundtrack actually has a lot of good music on it. Weird. Who would have guessed?

Grouplove has only been around since 2009 so they have a pretty short discography right now, but I haven't heard anything from them that I didn't like. I definitely recommend checking out their album. It's great to listen to when you need something high energy. Follow their Twitter or like them on Facebook for updates. As a note, Gold Coast is currently available as a free download when you sign up for the mailing list at their website or Facebook page.

However, since this post is about the remix specifically, let's talk Captain Cuts! CC is made up of two Ryans and a Ben. The Colours remix was the first track they uploaded at SoundCloud back in April and they've done 11 more since. They are based out of Los Angeles and apparently have a thing for Captain Hook. And now you know everything my gentle Googling unearthed! Go forth and explore their other tracks on SoundCloud. You can also check out their Twitter (where they offer such nuggets of wisdom as "if you can slip the term 'middle spoon' into a conversation, people will assume you've been in a threesome") or show some love and like them on Facebook.

Ordinarily I wouldn't share this track since it can be downloaded at the Captain Cuts SoundCloud, but since it seems to have reached its download limit here you go!

Just click on the download link and everything else is pretty
self-explanatory. Naturally these downloads are for preview purposes
only with no legal infringement intended. If you're a downloader and
you like what you hear, head on over to your favorite source of
downloads (might I suggest iTunes or Amazon?)
and support the artists by purchasing their music! If you are an
artist and object to your music being made available for download here,
please contact me and I'll remove it immediately.
