Update, 8/2/12

I forgot!  If you are staying at the Hilton they no longer have coffee makers or refrigerators in their rooms.  BUT!  Staring Thursday, the Hilton will be offering complimentary coffee in the Bridges Bar beginning at 6:30 a.m., so if you are an early bird, pop down and grab some coffee.  Also, throughout the conference The Bridges Bar will be a close, easy alternative for some quiet space if you need it.  They will have some great Hilton give-a-ways so take a moment and pop on down - lobby level of the Hilton NY.

Oh and about those in-room refrigerators...if you need one, call housekeeping and they will do their best to accommodate your needs.

We are  a few days away from BlogHer '12  and we have a lot to share!

In no particular order:

Let's talk about food at the event.  If you have a full conference pass you will have access to all meals, including breakfast, lunch, breaks and parties.  On Friday we are planning on a lovely full breakfast, including eggs, potatoes, juices, pastries, coffee and tea and we will have gluten free and vegan tables.  Our morning break will have coffee/tea and our sponsor is Yoplait.  Lunch is another full meal and of course, Martha Stewart!  The afternoon break will be coffee/tea/water and assorted sodas.  Then we move to our parties and each party will be serving lite faire and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.

Saturday is a little different, our breakfast will be continental only.  We know you like protein on your plates in the mornings so we wanted to let you know this will be a lighter breakfast.  Breaks will have coffee/tea/water and assorted sodas.  Lunch is another full plate as we welcome Katie Couric to the main stage, don't miss out!  Once again the evening parties will have food and beverage, both alcoholic and non - make sure to join us!  And once again we will have gluten free and vegan tables on Saturday as well.

If you have other dietary restrictions or allergies, you will need to find alternate menu options.  The hotel has a full restaurant on the lobby level and there are a variety of restaurants nearby.  Note: according to the Executive Chef he does NOT cook in soy oil.

Now let's chat about the mobile app.

Many of you have already downloaded the mobile app and have been checking out the attendee page, but (gasp!) you don't find your name.  Don't worry, that does not mean you aren't registered, it only means you have not signed up on the mobile app attendees icon and select *edit your contact info* and add as little or as much as you like. We do not automatically add anyone to any outfacing applications because we value your privacy!

Speaking of privacy…

For the first time since we started our conferences, our sponsors will have the option to order lead retrieval scanners and some, if not all, have done so.  What this means for you is that if you allow the sponsor to scan your badge you are authorizing them to have access to your registration data.  If you do not wish to have all of the information you provided during registration be shared, you may opt out of having your badge scanned and simply hand the sponsor/exhibitor a business card…the choice is yours!

Now about elevators

We have nearly 2000 people staying in the Hilton so elevators will be a bit slow.  Be patient and allow some extra time when arriving and departing to the sessions, etc.  The Hilton has also done something pretty cool and upgraded their elevator technology so once the elevator is full it will go direct to the first floor called on the elevator panel.

We did not mail badges this year!   Come to registration on the 2nd floor of the Hilton and pick up your badge.  Remember, you will need your ID.  In addition to getting your badge you will also pick up your lanyard, handout and commemorative pin!  However, this year you will pick up your tote bag in the Mercury Ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Hilton where we have even more exhibitors for you to visit after 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 2 during Evening at the Expo.
