I will admit, I am having a rough time again. Part hormones, part being on bandages and braces duty again. I'm thinking the weather is playing a role in all this as well, it's mostly been gloomy and dark day after day after day around here. Except today, which seems to be mostly sunny and I'm not in the mood for mostly sunny. Anyway, I'm angry, irritable, sad, hungry (OMG someone put a freaking lock on the kitchen already, I've gained five pounds in the last month), and frustrated. So, basically, life as usual.

I thought today would be a good day to just try to focus on all the things I like. Well, all the things I like about it being Fall with Winter nipping at our heels.

So here they are in no particular order.

Turning the heat up and snuggling on the couch while watching a movie.

Popcorn

We don't have satellite TV anymore. We couldn't afford it after Todd had to take some time off in September and medical bills started coming due. That and the new car he insisted he had to have. A new car that is just about outside our ability to pay for. We do have an antenna but it's limited to the local basic networks only and PBS. We can't even afford Netflix now that they went greedy and raised their rates. Plus, the idea of ordering a movie now and having to wait a week or two to get it irritates me and they only stream old crappy stuff, or that's what it was like when I did a free trial.

But on occasion we can get a couple of movies from one of the Redboxes in town. On those mights we make some yummy popcorn and snuggle up. It gives me warm fuzzies just thinking about it.

Do I need to say more? Yummy!

The way vibrant yellow leaves look against a deep blue sky, under a street light, and just after sunset.

Yellow

I'm not sure why this tickles me so. I think it's the vibrancy and contrast of the colors. At any rate, it makes me giddy inside and I get all excited for crafting and the start of winter.

Not having the cats constantly run away.

They are way to precious (in their own minds) to be dealing with cold and wet paws, evidently. I don't blame them really and I'm glad for the nice long break from having to worry or chase them down. People around here are not nice to cats so I prefer they stay safe and sound at home.

Sitting at the table making Play-Doh monsters with my girl and not have to feel guilty that we aren't outside playing.

I'm not lazy, I swear. It's just that there are too many bugs in the summer (huge phobia) and it's too cold from October to April. Besides, who else is going to teach her that monsters are cute, cuddly little squishy things rather than big, bad and scary?

Pumpkin Pie.

I'm not religious. Not that I think it's bad to be religious, I don't. I truly believe almost all religions have a lot to teach us in trying to be the best people we can be and use this life for good.

The best part about this time of year, I would have to say, is spending lots and lots of time with family.

In more recent years we
