Is Stitch Fix For You? Peek Into What the Personal Stylist Service Sent Me

Featured Member Post

I’m not really sure how the online personal stylist Stitch Fix does it, but somehow as soon as I send back each month’s Fix, I’m already excited about my next one. I’d been thinking about skipping a month, but … I’m kind of in love with it. Here’s how it works: Each month, I get a box of items hand-picked by a stylist, with my style, shape, and budget preferences in mind. I get to keep and pay for what I like each month, and return whatever I don’t want. The price for the service is $20 per month and if you purchase anything from the box, the $20 goes toward your bill. If you purchase EVERYTHING in the box, you get an extra 25% off your total.

My March Stitch Fix box is my seventh; you can check them all out here. Each month, I’ve only purchased one or two items, so it’s not breaking my budget. In fact, this process might actually be saving me some money. I’ve pretty much stopped most of my impulse purchases from fast-fashion stores like Target or Old Navy. Instead of buying a bunch of inexpensive items that will likely pill up or shrink oddly after just one washing, I’m buying better-quality pieces that I actually love.

If you’re interested in the concept, take a peek at what they sent me this month. (Note: This is a purely editorial review; I am not being compensated by Stitch Fix.)

When I sent in my request for March, I asked for the same stylist who put together my February Fix (Meagan), since I felt that she was on track with my personal style. I requested a blazer for work and an interesting cardigan, and tried again for some casual tops. There weren’t any interesting blazers available in my size for this Fix, but Meagan still knocked it out of the park. But what should I keep and return? I need your help to decide! Read on to see the picks …
