My New Most Favorite Blog Site
By Bad Luck Detective on June 05, 2012
Have I mentioned how much I love BlogHer. No, I’m not going to the conference and if you’re nice you will stop reminding me that you are going. I’m quite jealous and not above throwing a temper tantrum or two. I carry a gun when I do it so beware. I’ve met so many wonderful friends here, like minded strong women who make me proud every day as I read their amazing work.
Writing is my side job, hobby, escapism, craving, world. I love it as much as being a police detective. I’m not sure if I could write without the day job though. How would I get all the gossip and funny small town stories I love to share? I know, I could write vampire books. So I did. Not with the idea of leaving my police job but (gulp) because I’m a paranormal junkie. There. You know my big dark secret. I love the world of vampires, werewolves and romance.
I’ve been following @Gab15th (Emily Johnson) on BlogHer for a while. I love her site Coffee and Spell Check. She makes me laugh and she’s writing an intriguing book about wolves. She’s refusing to share more than a line or two but I bit the dust and ask her if she would be willing to read my first attempt at writing fiction. She agreed poor lady. I had no idea she didn’t care for romance stories. What’s wrong with her anyway? A little sex sells makes the world go round.
So, I saw her tweet on my other Twitter account. She liked the book. She said I was her new favorite author. Have I mentioned how much I love BlogHer? I know this post has been about me so far but it’s really about Emily’s blog. Her review is posted today. I was floored when I read it and I mean tears running down my face. I needed that boost. I’m on the editing stages of book II and I HATE EDITING! Emily asked me to guest post for her tomorrow and we are giving away 2 free copies of book I Fang Chronicles: Amy’s Story. Book II is Emily’s Story (yes, a huge coincidence) and it’s due out next month. Please visit Coffee and Spell Check for a chance to win. Thank you Emily my new bestess friend.
