My Private Time
As a mom of a busy three year old and a needy infant, I don't seem to have much time to myself. I've been having a hard time remembering to find time to read my Bible. It isn't that I don't want to, I just forget.
I realized, though, that (as weird as this sounds) my bathroom time is MY time. I love to read, it relaxes me, and I usually will bring a book in to the bathroom with me. Though I only get a few paragraphs read, I feel as if I've had some rejuvenating me-time. Well, the other day it hit me - why don't I bring my Bible in to the bathroom?
So I put my One Year Bible in the bathroom. Since it is only the beginning of March, I decided I would start in January, and hopefully will catch up to the current day in a month or so.
Now, reading the Bible while sitting on the toilet may seem sacrilege, but I'm not dishonoring God. I am enjoying my private time by reading AND getting into God's Word for refreshment. It is kind of nice to have that time with God a few times a day, as short as it may be. In the future, I just may be locking myself in the bathroom for longer periods of me-&-God-time.
