Bidding You Farewell

They say all good things must come to an end, and I suppose that’s true in some ways. Next month, a major chapter of my life will wind down to a close as I shut my laptop one last time, breathe a sigh of contentment, and bid my BlogHer co-workers a heartfelt goodbye. Or, I expect I will be breathing a sigh of contentment. It could be a sigh of fear, or apprehension, or incredulousness at my own brazen actions....more
Aww... I will MISS you. You were so KIND to me behind the stage at BlogHer 11. I will always ...more

What would you do if someone was breaking into your house with a 12-inch hunting knife while your three-month-old was in the other room? Would you call 911? Would you shoot the intruder? 18-year-old Sarah McKinley of Oklahoma did both of those things. She called 911 first, asking if she was allowed to shoot him. When the dispatcher told her that she couldn't give her permission, but that she was allowed to protect herself, Sarah chose to shoot the intruder when he finally broke in. ...more

Conference Corner: BlogHer '11 VirtualCon

Did BlogHer ’11 really come and go that fast? This time the week before last, thousands of attendees were packing suitcases, boarding planes, and planning which sessions to attend. Now you have met some of your tribes(wo)men, be it other military bloggers, or other twitterholics, or other modern marthas, or any other of the many, many Birds of a Feather meet-ups held throughout the weekend. ...more

Conference Corner: Nine Tips for BlogHer Newbies

Whether it’s your first conference or your fourth, sometimes we all feel like a #BH11newbie.
