Am I the Only Mom Who Wishes for a Best Friend?

My negative thoughts as a result were things like, "I have no friends," and "No one cares about my life," and "I wish my sister lived closer because she is the only one that gets me." But, I find myself feeling lonely. And sad. Moms need friends too, right? Or am I the only one? I have always been a people person. I have always had "an easy time making friends" as my Mom would say to me all the time growing up. But, here I am. 35-years-old. 3 kids. A good husband. A stable life. And, all I want is a close friend. ...more

I Left Everything I Knew in the Name of Love

I really loved being married. I loved finally being with Aaron all the time. But at the same time, I was sad. And it was hard. ...more

Retro Bridal Shower...

The theme of Caitlin's wedding is "Vintage".  We have googled, Pinerested, shopped and planned for EVERYTHING VINTAGE.  I must admit that I LOVE the theme; there are so many unique ideas to embrace.  My sister, cousin and good friend gave Caitlin a wedding shower this past weekend and knowing that her theme was vintage, decided to carry that over into the shower theme; they decided on "Retro".  Here are the photos and perhaps some inspiration for those of you who may also be planning a vintage or retro event in the future... ...more

Whatever Happened to Just Throwing Rice?!

When she got married, people threw rice at the newly married couple as they left the reception. She didn't dwell on what rice symbolized at the time, but she knew its importance as part of tradition. These days, though, nothing is traditional. Every bride wants her wedding to be unique.
