This homemade tomato sauce recipe has a secret ingredient... and it is something you've probably been throwing away! Okay, you're right. Patience: Waiting for BlogHer '14

I didn't know about BlogHer until pretty recently.  I've been living under a blogging rock, concentrating on my content and reaching people through my own connections.  Two months ago I realized I was limiting myself greatly, and needed to figure out how to really do this blogging thing.  Oh.my.goodness.I had been missing this big world of amazing writers.  I had been missing resources that could help me grow my audience.  I had been missing the chance to take steps towards my goals of one day writing and speaking full time. ...more

Valentine Chocolate Box Makeover

They sure don't make a box of Valentine's chocolates like they used to.  They may taste the same, but the boxes sure don't look as cute.  The boxes of yesteryear were adorned with lace, fake flowers, velvet ribbons  - the perfect amount of kitsch to be romantic.  Never fear fancy fun chocolate boxes can be yours again!...more

Every year, since my first BlogHer conference in 2008, I've thought, "This is the year I'm not going to panic before the conference. THIS is the year I've *got* this." And, like clockwork, I find myself doing stomach flips the week before, sometimes even the month before, for any number of reasons. Like the Spanish Inquisition, no one expects to get all jittery before the conference, but it happens anyway. We're people. We freak out. Especially when this happens....more

I am also trying to think of what I might have failed to teach the boy in his 18 years.I have double-checked that he knows:1. My views on alcohol and drug use.2. When to get the oil changed...more
