A protective Momma of three kids 6 years and under, retransplanted back to my rural hometown in central North Carolina. Left my adopted hometown of Chicago after 16 years and traded in meetings, my window office at a great PR agency and my high heels for playdates, the outdoors and whatever shoes I can find. The Husband (for 14 years now), kids and I moved in temporarily with my parents in the house I grew up in while waiting for our house to sell in Chicago. A year and a half after moving back, we're still waiting for it to sell, still living with my parents, but now we're reluctant landlords, enthusiastic backyard chicken farmers with a flock of chickens and guineas, and accidental puppy-owners (what was I thinking??!!). Questioning whether Thomas Wolfe was right about never being able to go home again, and determined to prove him wrong.
