As an undergraduate at Harvard University, I started a company out of my dorm room with two friends. No, it’s not Facebook or Microsoft (darn it!), but Aquent became an Inc. 500 Company (#12) for Fastest Growing Private Company. I attended UCLA’s Anderson School of Business for my M.B.A. and became a serial entrepreneur starting businesses that included marketing and creative professional staffing, designing and manufacturing women’s golf apparel, a print magazine for freelancers, and online recruiting models for MBAs and accountants.
Then I became a mom and stayed home after my second child was born. Now with 3 kids (ages 12, 10 and 7), I focus on education after discovering 5 years ago that my oldest, who was then in first grade, had fallen behind. I also reconnected with my love of children’s books and became passionate about getting reluctant readers excited about books.
I started my blog, PragmaticMom.com, nearly 3 years ago as a result and blog on parenting, education and a whole lot of children's and YA literature.
