Born and raised in Chicago, I received my BS in marketing from Northern Illinois University and my MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. I am now a PhD candidate for public service leadership at Capella University with a dissertation topic on the human-animal bond. My writing has been published in the Chicago Sun-Times, Diverse Voices Quarterly, Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, r.kv.r.y. quarterly literary journal, and other venues.
An animal lover, I serve on the board of directors for the West Suburban Humane Society in Downers Grove, Illinois, and volunteer on the Associate Board for Found Chicago. My free time is spent playing the flute, cooking, and practicing aromatherapy.
