Bio

Wendy Oliveras is a proud Latina entrepreneur, small business owner, Author of Let's Play SHESS, columnist, search consultant, and motivational speaker. She is Founder and CEO of Oliveras & Company, Inc., a prominent search firm specializing in the recruitment of intellectual property attorneys and partners in New Jersey since 2001. Oliveras brings 30 years of combined hands-on experience in intellectual property law firms and attorney placement nationally and internationally. Her vision and passion to help others find permanent and temporary placement has been her motivation to create a successful staffing company.

In addition, Oliveras has found yet another avenue in which to mentor and motivate girls and women to believe in their abilities and achieve their goals by writing "Let's Play SHESS." The entire SHESS ideology and its new exciting brand, including the subsequent line of products and children's book series to follow, represents one of her most creative and passionate business endeavors. This inspirational SHESS movement is designed to encourage women of all ages and backgrounds to play a fun game of chess and transfer the chess-playing skills into their real life activities, including strategies for business development.

Oliveras was also the President of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJWABO) Hudson County Chapter from April 2010 - April 2012. As a devoted advocate to empower women and SHESS mentor in her game of life, Oliveras continues her leadership role to inspire, motivate and guide women in their start-up endeavors and business development throughout the country.

Oliveras holds a Masters of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Human Resources Management and a post-Masters Certification in Career Development and Planning from The New School in New York City. Her professional affiliations include: Ambassador, NJTC; Board of Trustees, MDN; Toastmasters; NJAWBO; WIPP; NAFE; and NAPW.
